George Floyd Protests, May 2020

I photographed these protests as someone who grew up between Kenya and Minneapolis, a city that welcomed my family, shaped my identity, and then became the center of a global reckoning. Standing at the intersection of African immigrant and Black American experience, this work is a firsthand record of grief, rage, and community from the streets where it all began.
